A mechanical bathroom scale uses pressure on the internal springs that rotates a disc displaying the user's weight in the display window.
If you're using mechanical scales, you should ensure the pointer is on zero. To put the pointer on zero use the rotating dial located on the side of the scale turn the dial till the pointer is over zero.
